Community organizing is an important way to seek broader systemic changes in our society, and we see many current movements using this model.
An important question to consider is what is an ally’s role in organizing for change alongside marginalized communities?
Join us for the Diversity Forum on June 15th as we continue our theme of Becoming Allies. This month our speakers will address why is it important for movements for social change to be centered around and led by those who are most impacted, and speak to what an ally’s role is in joining community organizing efforts led by marginalized communities.
We are pleased to have the following speakers, who will each bring their unique perspective to this conversation:
- Maria Hernandez, Harrisburg Coordinator, Movement of Immigrant Leaders in PA (MILPA)
- Alex Domingos, Activist, ThisStopsTodayHarrisburg
- Theo Braddy, Executive Director, Center for Independent Living of Central PA
