Employment Readiness Services for Homeless Veterans

The YWCA Veterans Department provides a variety of employment readiness services for homeless veterans in Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, York and Perry counties through the Department of Labors’ (DOL) Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) through outreach, referrals from other agencies and walk-ins.

Dedicated Veterans Employment Specialists provide a full range of employment readiness services to eligible homeless veterans seeking employment and self-sufficiency. Services include job search assistance, career planning and employment plan development, resume development and updating, interview skills training, assistance with work clothing, transportation, and referral assistance to help obtain other benefits and services. 

Veterans Employment Specialists also provide job development, job coaching and retention services to eligible veterans regardless of barriers. This includes ordering Veterans DD 214 forms, coordination with housing providers, site coordination at area CareerLinks and other services.
