The YWCA's Violence Intervention and Prevention program is now accepting applications for Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Volunteer Victim Advocate Training.

March 7 - March 29, 2016

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5 - 9 PM

Qualified applicants must:

  • Be 18 & over
  • Be interested in working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault
  • Be available to volunteer on evenings and weekends
  • Be willing to obtain child abuse and criminal background clearances
  • Complete combined classroom and online training, as well as a field practicum

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Staffing the crisis hotline - 1-800-654-1211
  • Providing medical/legal accompaniments
  • Facilitating support groups
  • Assisting staff in shelter
  • Providing childcare
  • Assisting with clerical duties
