The YWCA's Violence Intervention and Prevention program is now accepting applications for Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Volunteer Victim Advocate Training.
March 7 - March 29, 2016
Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5 - 9 PM
Qualified applicants must:
- Be 18 & over
- Be interested in working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault
- Be available to volunteer on evenings and weekends
- Be willing to obtain child abuse and criminal background clearances
- Complete combined classroom and online training, as well as a field practicum
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Staffing the crisis hotline - 1-800-654-1211
- Providing medical/legal accompaniments
- Facilitating support groups
- Assisting staff in shelter
- Providing childcare
- Assisting with clerical duties
